Bubble Play is a public art installation by Shophouse & Co to explore how playful public spaces can alleviate stress, strengthen relationships, improve our wellbeing and spark creative thought. Designed as a participatory and colourful landscape by day, it transforms into an illuminating exploration of colour theory by night.

Centred around the use of bubble wrap, the artwork reimagines the day-to-day material into a fun and interactive participation tool, inviting people of all ages to pop its surfaces. It is also a playful reinterpretation on the items that we got used to during this pandemic times — bubble wrap from online deliveries, tapes for safety distancing, and QR codes for entry. The installation hopes to remind us that joy can still be found in everyday moments as we welcome in a new normal.

The artwork consists of 4 different play zones: pop, move, share and think. Head down to Downtown East to check out the artwork from now till 21 March 2021! Safety first: Remember to watch your step, avoid leaning against the artwork, maintain physical distancing, and wash your hands after playing.
